Manchester City are set to navigate the rest of the season without several of their key veterans, with three of their experienced Man City players heading for the exit door during the recently concluded transfer window.
Ederson Moraes, who has been a crucial part of Pep Guardiola’s squad since 2017, has officially completed a move to Fenerbahçe, while two other players are also departing, marking the end of an era for the treble-winning side.
Ederson Leaves for Fenerbahçe After Many Successful Years
The goalkeeper, widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, sealed a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe following months of speculation.
The Brazilian had been linked with several European clubs, but Fenerbahçe emerged as the frontrunners and secured his signature in a move that signals a new chapter for the 32-year-old.
Since joining City in 2017, Ederson has been instrumental in the club’s domestic dominance and European success.
His departure leaves a significant gap in Guardiola’s squad, particularly given his exceptional ball distribution and commanding presence in the box.
Manuel Akanji and İlkay Gündoğan Set for New Challenges
Goalkeeper Ederson is not the only one leaving. Defender Manuel Akanji, another of the experienced Man City players, has joined Inter Milan on a season-long loan.
Reports suggest the Italian club agreed to pay €1 million (£870,000) for the temporary deal, which includes an option to make the move permanent for €15 million (£13 million).

However, the clause becomes an obligation if Inter win Serie A and Akanji features in at least 50% of their matches.
Meanwhile, İlkay Gündoğan, one of Guardiola’s most trusted midfielders, is on the verge of signing for Galatasaray.
According to multiple sources, the Turkish club has offered the German an annual salary of €5 million to secure his services.
With Manchester City reportedly backing the transfer, Gündoğan is expected to finalise his move soon, bringing an end to his illustrious spell in Manchester.
