Manchester City Plan To Sign Barcelona Player As Replacement For Their Superstar

Manchester City are planning to sign Barcelona goalkeeper despite already signing some players this summer in an attempt to bring the club back on the right track.

At least four players have been added to the team this summer, and it was reported that the Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, could also be heading to Manchester in the coming days.

Andre ter Stegen, the captain of the Barcelona team, has been told to find a new club. The shot stopper will not be at the club next season because he is reportedly not in Hansi Flick’s plans. The manager would prefer having Wojciech Szczesny and the incoming Joan Garcia between the posts.

Similarly, Manchester City may not have their goalkeeper, Ederson Moraes, when the season begins. The Brazilian was recently subjected to online criticisms over his performances at the FIFA Club World Cup. There are rumours regarding his future commitment to the club after nine years.

Also, Galatasaray has reportedly shown interest in the 31-year-old Brazilian and could make a move to bring him to the Turkish league before the end of this summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Stefan Ortega, the back-up goalkeeper at Manchester City, is also planning to make a move away from the club. It was reported that the German was unhappy with the second-choice role and may seek playing opportunities elsewhere.

Therefore, Manchester City are planning to sign Barcelona goalkeeper to replace either Ederson or Ortega who may decide to leave in the coming days.

Spanish outlet Diario AS are reporting via Sport Witness that: “Barcelona will become more nervous when it comes to accepting a lower offer. If not a free transfer. Releasing the goalkeeper’s contract is a priority.”

Luis Suarez Praised Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Compared Him To Midfielders.

Pep Guardiola’s decision to go for Andre ter Stegen could be linked to his ability to play like a midfielder. The German goalkeeper is good at using his feet with the ball, and this was confirmed by his former teammate, Luis Suarez.

According to the former Barcelona striker, Andre ter Stegen’s ability to use his feet is extraordinary, and only a few goalkeepers have these qualities.

“Marc is almost like another midfielder. His game with the ball at his feet is the best of any goalkeeper in the world,” Suarez claimed.
