The agent of Erling Haaland has reacted to the report that Manchester City are planning to sell him to Barcelona.
Reports in Spain earlier this week suggested that discussions had taken place between figures connected to Manchester City and individuals linked with Barcelona presidential candidate Víctor Font.
The reports claimed the meeting centred on the possibility of giving Barcelona an advantage should Haaland ever become available on the transfer market.
The alleged talks surfaced shortly after City suffered a difficult night in Europe, losing heavily to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie.
The speculation emerged after Spanish outlet SPORT reported that two members of Víctor Font’s team – Carles Planchart and Xavier Aguilar – were seen at Manchester City’s team hotel in Madrid.
According to the report, the pair held discussions with City chief executive Ferran Soriano and sporting director Hugo Viana while both clubs were in the Spanish capital for the European fixture.
The story gained further traction following Manchester City’s 3–0 defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Spanish side produced a dominant display, with Federico Valverde scoring three goals in a remarkable 22-minute spell that effectively settled the contest.
Agent insists Haaland is “very happy” at Manchester City
In response to the reports linking Haaland with Barcelona, his representative Rafaela Pimenta has dismissed suggestions that any discussions have taken place regarding a possible transfer.
Speaking to El Chiringuito’s Marcos Benito, Pimenta emphasised that neither the player nor Barcelona officials have made contact over a potential move.
“I’ve often said we have a lot of respect and admiration for Barcelona.
“But there hasn’t been any contact whatsoever, either with Erling Haaland or with Barcelona’s management, regarding potential transfer targets,” Pimenta insisted in light of recent reports.
She also highlighted that the striker recently committed his future to Manchester City by extending his contract, adding that he remains satisfied with life at the club.
“Also, because the player renewed his contract a few months ago, he’s very happy at Manchester City.
“Everything is going very well for him and we really have nothing to discuss about a transfer when everything is so good at Manchester City.”

Haaland has been a key figure for City since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, scoring regularly and helping the club maintain its dominance in English football.
While interest from Europe’s elite clubs is rarely far away for players of his calibre, the latest comments from his representative suggest there is no immediate prospect of a move.
For now, the Norwegian’s attention will turn back to the pitch as City prepare for the decisive second leg against Real Madrid.
After being largely neutralised in the first encounter, Haaland will hope to make a far greater impact in front of his home supporters.
The task will not be straightforward. Madrid’s defensive pairing of Rüdiger and Huijsen proved difficult to break down in the first meeting, and City must find a way to unlock that resistance if they are to mount a comeback.
