For many young players, the chance to share a pitch with such names would be a dream come true.

So when Egypt international Omar Marmoush was asked who he would have liked to play with among those legends, there was great curiosity about his choice.

According to reports, the Egyptian forward was asked by TNT Sports to make a selection from among the past legends. Without hesitation, he mentioned Toure as the one player he wished he could have played alongside.

Toure, who joined City from Barcelona in 2010, quickly established himself as a dominant presence in the midfield.

Known for his power, composure, technical quality, and ability to score decisive goals, the Ivorian was a driving force during some of Manchester City’s most important triumphs.

Yaya Toure’s Achievements at Manchester City

Yaya Toure’s career at Manchester City is etched into the club’s modern history. During his eight-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, he played 316 matches, scoring 80 goals and registering 45 assists.

His powerful runs, long-range strikes, and ability to dictate the midfield made him one of the most influential players in the Premier League.

He was pivotal in ending City’s 35-year wait for a major trophy when he scored the winning goal in the 2011 FA Cup final against Stoke City.

The following year, Toure played a vital role as City clinched the Premier League title in dramatic fashion under Roberto Mancini, with Aguero’s last-minute goal against QPR sealing the crown.

Over his time at the club, Toure won three Premier League titles, two League Cups, and an FA Cup.

He also became known for stepping up in crucial moments, often carrying the team through challenging fixtures.

His 20-goal haul in the 2013/14 Premier League season remains one of the finest individual campaigns by a midfielder in English football.

By the time Pep Guardiola took over in 2016, Toure’s role had begun to diminish, and he eventually left Manchester City on a free transfer in 2018.
