Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has made a bold claim, insisting he is a better player than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian attacker, who arrived in England after a standout spell in Germany, has not shied away from comparisons with his more established national teammate.
Marmoush joined City in January following an impressive first half of the season with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
The 25-year-old had already scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists for the German club before Pep Guardiola secured his services midway through the campaign.
Since moving to Manchester, Marmoush has added another eight goals and one assist to his record, underlining his growing influence in the Premier League.
One of his strikes, a thunderous effort from outside the box, was voted Goal of the Season by supporters, marking a spectacular start to his life in English football.
The Egyptian forward believes his form shows he belongs at the very top level.
Marmoush Names Himself Best Player from Africa
Despite Salah’s global reputation as one of Africa’s greatest-ever footballers, Marmoush has positioned himself ahead of his compatriot.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the City forward was asked to name the best African player currently playing in Europe.
Without hesitation, he chose himself, dismissing the achievements of Salah and other elite talents from the continent.

Meanwhile, for more than half a decade, Salah has been regarded as Africa’s standout footballer, winning multiple Golden Boots, a Premier League title, and the Champions League.
But Marmoush’s rapid rise has given Egypt another star competing at the highest level.
Omar Marmoush Names Reece James as His Toughest Premier League Opponent
Marmoush has not only drawn attention with his goals but also with his honest reflections on life in the Premier League.
Asked about his toughest opponent so far, the Egyptian singled out Chelsea captain Reece James.
“Until now, it was Reece James. It was my first Premier League game. He’s fast, strong and has quality on the ball. He gave me a tough time,” Marmoush admitted.

That match, a 3-1 City victory over Chelsea, was Marmoush’s debut in English football.
Lining up alongside Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, he struggled to match his teammates’ contributions and was eventually replaced by Kevin De Bruyne in the second half.
Haaland scored one and assisted another, while Foden also found the net. Marmoush, however, had a learning experience against one of England’s best right-backs.
Despite a difficult introduction, Marmoush has since grown into his role under Guardiola, adapting quickly to the pace and demands of English football.
