İlkay Gündoğan officially joined Galatasaray after leaving Manchester City for the second time, with his salary now disclosed by the Turkish champions.
The former Germany international, who once captained City during their historic treble-winning campaign, sealed his move on the final day of the transfer window.
The 34-year-old midfielder’s career has taken him across some of Europe’s biggest clubs. After an initial exit from City in 2023 to join Barcelona, Gündoğan spent just a season in Spain before returning to Manchester.
His comeback at the Etihad, however, did not unfold as expected. With limited playing time and tactical changes leaving him sidelined, he was made available for transfer once again.
That paved the way for his move to Turkey, where Galatasaray quickly stepped in to secure his services.

His two-year deal will see him pocket close to €9 million in total, excluding potential bonuses and incentives tied to performance or trophies.

The signing represents a major coup for Galatasaray, who continue to bolster their squad with players of international pedigree.
