There is growing uncertainty surrounding the future of one of the Manchester City attackers, with reports suggesting the club could be open to letting the some players leave during the upcoming summer window.
According to Football Insider, the Brazilian winger, Savinho has attracted attention from Tottenham Hotspur, who were previously linked with him and may consider a renewed approach.
City are still firmly in the hunt domestically, sitting second in the Premier League standings. However, they trail Arsenal by nine points, albeit with a game still to play.
Their focus will also turn to Wembley, where Pep Guardiola’s side are preparing for a high-stakes clash against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.
Savinho’s situation is somewhat complicated. Despite being tied to a long-term contract that runs until June 2031, his role within the squad has not always been guaranteed.
While he remains a valued member of Guardiola’s squad, regular starting opportunities have been limited, raising questions about how central he is to the club’s long-term plans.
The winger arrived at the Etihad Stadium in 2024 for a reported £31 million fee, a move designed to strengthen City’s already formidable attacking options.
Before his switch to England, Savinho developed through the youth ranks at Atletico Mineiro, eventually stepping into senior football at a young age and quickly attracting attention for his flair and attacking instincts.
A move to Europe followed in 2022 when he joined Troyes. However, his time in France did not include first-team appearances. Instead, he was sent out on loan to gain valuable experience, featuring for PSV and later Girona.
Those spells proved important in shaping his development, allowing him to adapt to European football and showcase his potential.
Now a full international with 13 caps for Brazil, Savinho has accumulated 75 appearances under Guardiola. Across those outings, he has contributed six goals, including three this season. While those numbers highlight flashes of quality, they also underline his status as more of a rotational option rather than a consistent starter.
That context explains why speculation around his future has begun to grow. Should Tottenham secure their place in the Premier League, it would not be unexpected for them to revisit their previous interest in the player as they look to strengthen their attacking depth.

When Savinho first completed his move to Manchester City, his excitement about joining the club was clear.
Reflecting on the transfer, he said: “I just got here this morning and I turned to my agent and stepfather and said, ‘there was no way I was going to turn down Manchester City’.
“I’m a Brazilian who likes to play on the front foot, to be happy, to play joyful football. I like playing one against one, making assists, scoring goals too, and helping the team. My main characteristic, what I like the most, is being happy and getting fans up off their seats.”
Those words captured both his playing style and his ambition — a forward who thrives on creativity, directness and entertaining supporters. Yet, in a squad filled with world-class attacking talent, turning that promise into a guaranteed starting role has proved challenging.
Former director of football Txiki Begiristain has also spoken positively about Savinho’s potential and long-term importance to the club.
He said: “He has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond. We are totally confident in his ability. He is still young and has the potential to become even better, and everyone knows that Pep is the best at helping players develop even further.”
